Overview編集

Sonic the Hedgehog CD (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグCD Sonikku za Hejjihoggu Shīdī), commonly known as Sonic CD (ソニックCD Sonikku Shīdī) is a platformer that was developed exclusively for the Sega Mega-CD peripheral for the Mega Drive. Amy Rose and Metal Sonic made their first appearances in this title as well.

Developed mainly by the staff of the first Sonic game, this game was released later than Sonic the Hedgehog 2 but the controls are similar to those of the first Sonic game.

A peel out move was added to Sonic's actions, which allows the player to run faster than a spin dash while his legs form a figure eight.

In the Story Mode, which can be played in the chronological order of Sonic Origins, the game is played between Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
